Every logistics company says it is reliable. Very few say how reliable, and fewer still say it every month.
In 2021 we started publishing our on-time delivery rate by mode on the first working day of each month. Road, ocean, air and last mile, measured against the date we promised at booking, not a date we revised later.
What counts as on time
A shipment is on time if it is delivered on or before the date in the original booking confirmation. If we move the date, even with the customer's agreement, the shipment counts as late.
What it has changed
Publishing the number changed what our teams pay attention to. Nobody wants to explain a red month, so problems are raised earlier and fixed sooner.
It has also changed sales conversations. Prospects can see that our worst month in the last three years was 94.1% on road freight, during a winter storm, and decide for themselves.
