Haulmark has opened a bonded cross-dock at Maasvlakte, beside the deep-sea container terminals of the Port of Rotterdam.

The 24-door facility receives containers straight from the terminals, unloads and sorts their contents, and loads them onto trucks for destinations across Europe. Goods can stay under customs bond until they reach their final country.

Containers that previously travelled 40 kilometres inland to be unloaded now cross the road. For most shipments, the time from vessel discharge to departure on a European truck falls to under 36 hours.
